Paint, patch, wire

Painting, drywall and light fixtures in Telford, PA

Interior painting, drywall patching, light fixtures, ceiling fans and video doorbells, done room by room by one licensed handyman.

Chapter 01

Tired walls, a dead ceiling light, a room with no fan

Most rooms do not need a renovation. They need the nail pops filled, the scuffs by the door gone, the crack over the window patched and a coat of paint that lands evenly from corner to corner. Then the dark spot where a ceiling light used to work, or the stuffy bedroom that never had a fan, stops being the thing you notice first.

That is the work Joel MacLeod takes on around Telford, PA and across Montgomery and Bucks County. It is small by the standards of a general contractor, and it is the kind of work that gets put off for years because nobody wants to arrange three trades to do one afternoon of jobs. One call to 908-296-9261 covers all of it.

How a room gets done, in order

Furniture gets moved to the middle and covered, floors get drop cloths, and switch plates come off. Holes, dents and cracks are patched with joint compound, left to dry, sanded flat and spot primed so the patch does not flash through the finish. Painting a room before the walls are flat only highlights every flaw you were hoping to hide.

Fixtures follow the same logic. An old ceiling light comes down, the wiring is checked, and the new fixture goes up level and tight to the ceiling. A ceiling fan needs a box rated to carry it, so Joel confirms the support before he hangs anything that will spin over your head. Video doorbells and cameras are mounted, powered and tested from the phone before he leaves.

Twenty-five years in home construction means he sees what is behind the drywall as well as the paint on its face. If a patch turns out to be hiding something bigger, you hear about it before any more work gets done.

Chapter 03

When he leaves, the room is yours again

Drop cloths come up, tape gets pulled while the paint is still forgiving, and the room is vacuumed before Joel loads the truck. Switch plates go back on, the new light is switched on to prove it works, and the fan is run through its speeds. You should be able to put the furniture back that evening.

Hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Call or text, describe the rooms and the fixtures, and ask Joel for an estimate. He is licensed in Pennsylvania (PA180140) and fully insured, and no job is too small.

A customer on the cleanup

Would highly recommend this company. Work done was very professional. Joel went above and beyond what we needed. Timely and very courteous. Consciousness about cleaning up.

Drop cloths first, vacuum last

Paint is half the job. The other half is what you find on the floor afterwards.

Every room starts with drop cloths and ends with a vacuum. In between, drywall gets patched and sanded smooth, paint is cut in cleanly at the ceiling and trim, and any fixtures or video doorbells and cameras on the list are mounted and tested.

Joel does the work himself, so the person who patched the wall is the person who cleans up after it.
