A good list makes the first call short

What to put in your message

Show the job

  • A photo of the spot, one from across the room and one up close.
  • Which room or which side of the house it is in.
  • Anything you already know, like a door that sticks only in summer or a leak under the sink.

Say when and how

  • When you are home, with the hours above in mind: weekdays 8 to 5, Saturday until noon.
  • Whether a call or a text suits you better, and the number to use.
  • Everything else on the list, even the small things. Joel's line is “No job is too small!”
